to look in your eyes is to dissolve. to become one with your cloudy aquamarine tide. to surf and crash and dive and drown. to be buoyant as lead, shrieking, deadly as the lone minnow. to be the will-o-wisp who fade and burn against your cool spotlight. to become frozen over in nuclear winter; shaved to the bone. snowflakes to be scattered to wind, forbidden in early spring morning. to become slush by the sidewalk. to warp and disfigure, paper under sodden watercolor.
